Internship program Georgia

The internship program with Georgia takes place for the first time in 2020. The program is part of an education and internationalization campaign by the Georgian government. The Europe-oriented country located between Russia and Turkey is considered the cradle of wine-growing.

As part of the project "Transitional Agriculture: Promoting exchanges between FOs", which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) , AgrarKontakte International (AKI) e.V. organizes together with the Andreas Hermes Academy (AHA) under the patronage of the World Farmer´ Organisation (WFO)  seminars on various topics related to "Transitional Agriculture".

Ukraine

Internship program Ukraine

The internship program with Ukraine has existed since 2009 and is run since 2018 in collaboration with ADT Project Consulting GmbH. Ukraine is known for its fertile black-earth soils (Chernozem) and the seemingly endless wheat and sunflower fields.

Kyrgyzstan

Internship program Kyrgyzstan

The internship program with Kyrgyzstan has been in place since 2016. Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous agricultural country. Agriculture is one of the leading economic sectors in Kyrgyzstan. The majority of plant production is in grain, cotton and tobacco.

The internship program with Kenya takes place for the first time in 2020. The program is part of the “Skills Initiative for Africa” from the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Burundi

Establishment of an Agri-social Education and Training Centre in Gitega, Burundi

The project "Establishment of an Agri-social Education and Training Center in Gitega, Burundi" is funded by the Ministry of Food, Rural Affairs, and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg (MLR) with the project management being carried out by AKI. The local project partners are Father Walter Stärk, who has been a local resident for many years, the Christian community "Camelius" and the primary and secondary school St. Kizito in the south of the capital Gitega.

Germany

Internship programs

An important focus of our work is the implementation of the internship programs. The aim of the professional training and continuing education programs with the motto “Learning by doing”, which last several months, is the conveyance of agricultural knowledge. This provides the interns with the possibility to gather extensive practical experience in areas such as pig and cattle farming, milk production, arable farming or wine and fruit growing.

Russia

Internship program Russia

The internship program with Russia is the origin of the AKI internship programs. Since 1990 between 50 to 80 interns from Russia come to Germany every year. From this collaboration, the Russian Farmer’s Association, AKKOR, was formed.
