On Wednesday, 29. November 2023, AKI elected its new Honorary Board Members at the 28th AKI Annual Meeting in a hybrid format.

Mr. Hans-Benno Wichert, farmer from Oberdischingen and Vice President of the State Farmers' Association in Baden-Württemberg e.V. (LBV), remains as Chairman of the Board and Mr. Siegfried Schwab, farmer from Roigheim, as Deputy Chairman of the Board. Both were unanimously re-elected to their positions.

Also unanimously re-elected were the board members Mr. Horst Wenk, Deputy Managing Director of the State Farmers' Association in Baden-Württemberg e.V. (LBV), Mr. Karl Müller, farmer from Allmannsweiler, Mr. Wilfried Müller, Managing Director of RAUCH Agricultural machinery factory GmbH and Mr. Thomas Huschle, farmer from Achern and Chairman of the Rastatt-Bühl-Achern district farmers association.

New and also unanimously re-elected to the Board were Ms. Dr. Teresa Walter, Departmental Coordinator for Politics and Agriculture at the Association of Cooperatives of Baden-Württemberg e.V. (BWGV) and Mr. Jörg Sauter, former Managing Director of the Pig Breeders' Association Baden-Württemberg e.V. (SZV) and now Executive Member of the Managing Board of Foundations of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.

After many years on the AKI Board, Mr. Sigmar Hammer, farmer from Sigmaringendorf, who had been a member of the AKI Board since 1998, and Ms. Juliane Vees, farmer from Eutingen-Weitingen and President of the Württemberg-Hohenzollern Rural Women's Association, who has supported AKI as a member of the Board since 2019, did not run for re-election.

We would like to thank all former and current Board members for their voluntary work. It is not least thanks to their support that AKI has been able to realize its goals as a non-profit organization since 1998, above all the traineeship programs for young professionals from its partner countries on farms in southern Germany, but also the implementation of international cooperation projects, all in order to contribute actively to the civil society in Germany and around the world.
