After no interns from Kyrgyzstan were allowed to travel to Germany last year due to the Corona travel restriction, we are very pleased to welcome our Kyrgyz interns for 2021.

The internship program with Kyrgyzstan has been implemented since 2016 in cooperation between AKI and the S. Tursunov Agricultural Economics College in Bishkek.

On Tuesday, 18 May 2021, the first three Kyrgyz students from the S. Tursunov Agricultural Economics Technical College Bishkek arrived for their eight-month internship in southern Germany.

The AKI team welcomed the group at the AKI office in Stuttgart-Plieningen. Due to the current Corona regulations, the students were picked up by their host families on the same day and could thus go directly to their host families for the mandatory quarantine period.

On Friday, 21 May, another Kyrgyz intern arrived at Frankfurt Airport, who will complete his traineeship at a farm located near Ulm.

Before the interns arrived in Germany, an online introductory course was held for the Kyrgyz interns. The students received a general introduction to the internship in Southern Germany with a focus on deepening their knowledge of the country and its people and a presentation of the criteria for a successful completion of their internship.

AKI is currently expecting three more interns from Kyrgyzstan who will arrive in the next few weeks.
