On Monday, June 27, 2022, six trainees from Georgia landed in Stuttgart. The trainees were welcomed at the airport by the project manager Anastasiia Fomina. Due to the size of the group, the introductory seminar could be held in a small group at the AKI office in Stuttgart, Plieningen. There, the trainees were also officially welcomed by Falk Kullen, Managing Director of AKI.

The most important documents for the traineeship were discussed with the trainees and all open questions were clarified.  Among other things, the seminar introduced various topics from the field of traineeships, agriculture in southern Germany, effective communication and language skills, as well as everyday working life on farms. After the introductory seminar, the students were handed over to their host families on the same day.

The traineeship program with Georgia this year is taking place for the third time. Georgia is known for its long tradition in viticulture. For the past three years, students from Georgia have been coming to learn modern standards, methods, technologies and the current system of viticulture and winemaking.

However, this year, the community college "Opizari" is also participating in the traineeship programme for the first time, of which all participating trainees are future veterinarians who want to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible for the veterinary profession. The AKI Traineeship Program with Georgia continues to provide opportunities for Georgian students to gain important practical experience in agriculture.
