On 11 and 12 September 2026, AKI, together with its local partners – the Environment Conscious Youth Association in Ngozi and the Camelian Brothers in Gitega – brought together young people, farmers, schools, cooperatives, local government representatives and environmental activists in Ngozi.

The Burundian radio station UMUCO FM was also present at the seminar and reported on the various topics discussed. At the heart of the seminar was the central question: How can young people become active drivers of environmental protection and sustainable development in their communities in the face of rapid climate change?

UMUCO FM reaches millions of people in Burundi and also has a reach in parts of Rwanda and Tanzania.
