From August 09 to 11, 2022, the second summer excursion for AKI trainees took place. This time 10 participants from Eastern Europe and Central Asia (Georgia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) joined the excursion. The Stuttgart region was chosen as the destination.

Coming from different regions of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, the 10 trainees visited two farms in the Stuttgart region on the first day of the excursion. During the guided tour of the large Schwarz dairy farm in Falkenhof, Leonberg, with approximately 400 dairy cows, the trainees asked the farm manager, Mr. Hans-Georg Schwarz, many technical questions about the farm structure, milk production and general dairy farming. Afterwards, on the diverse farm Haldenhof of Monika & Rolf Mayer in Stuttgart Plieningen, the interns gained insights into the organic cultivation of cereals, fruit and vegetables The next day, the group travelled to Winnenden and visited the world market leader for cleaning equipment – the company Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. KG. which has been supporting the AKI trainee programs for many years as part of the technical excursions. Here, the interns were given a two-hour guided tour with a factory tour and a tour of the museum on the topic of production, research & development.

The cultural program in the state capital Stuttgart included a visit to the Mercedes-Benz Museum and a sightseeing tour of the castle square and the city center.

The group spent the night in the central DJH Youth Hostel Stuttgart International with an enchanting view over the “Kettle city” (Stuttgart is located in a valley basin, from which it gets this nickname), which the trainees will probably remember for a long time.
