Fruitful Visit to the Agri-social Education and Training Center in Gitega, Burundi

AKI's project manager, Teklezghi Teklebrhan, recently completed a five-day visit to the Agri-social Education and Training Center in Gitega, Burundi, setting the stage for further success in early June 2023. The visit had two main objectives: to monitor ongoing activities and to collaboratively plan upcoming activities together with the project team on site.

Together with the project team, Teklezghi Teklebrhan visited the project area to observe the ongoing activities. Further, he organized a two-day workshop in which the discussions revolved around leadership and project management, analyzing the economic pillars of the project, developing effective marketing strategies for the products of the project, and fostering cooperation with relevant national and international partners.

During the workshops, brother Angelus Ndikumasabo and brother Athanase Nsabimana were appointed as the project's director and vice-director, respectively. The local consultant Pierre Maniragarura will continue to coordinate and supervise all project activities.

Impressed by the project team's high motivation and engagement, Teklezghi Teklebrhan expressed his satisfaction with the visit: “clear tasks and roles were defined for each responsible person, laying a solid foundation for efficient project execution. The visit proved to be immensely successful, as all its objectives were achieved.”

The project “Agri-Social Education and Training Centre in Gitega, Burundi“ is funded by the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection - Baden-Württemberg (MLR) since August 2020.
