Local radio reports on the success of AKI's energy-saving stoves in Burundi

On May 28, 2025, Radion Star FM in Gitega aired a Kirundi-language report on the growing success of energy-saving stoves introduced by AKI. Broadcasted across five provinces, the segment emphasized the stoves’ wide acceptance and their positive environmental and health impacts.

Reporter Michelline Bigirimana interviewed Brother Ezechiel Ndikumana of the Ordre St. Camillen, who highlighted benefits such as reduced firewood use, improved indoor air quality, lower smoke-related health risks, and safer cooking - especially for children.

Local leader Emmanuel Nkeshimana praised the innovation and called for national support to scale the initiative. AKI welcomes the community’s response and remains committed to promoting climate action and public health in Burundi.
